Reimagining the passenger experience to support sustainable growth and long-term terminal evolution.
Value Delivered
Project Overview
Between November 2018 and May 2019, 1PAX participated in the concession competition for Lille International Airport, commissioned by Eiffage Concession. The proposal addressed an airport serving up to 5.4 million passengers annually and focused on defining a strategic vision capable of supporting future growth through the renovation and expansion of the existing terminal.
Key Challenge
The airport faced the dual challenge of improving customer experience while preparing for capacity expansion within an existing infrastructure. The project needed to enhance service quality, streamline passenger flows, and integrate new technologies, all while responding to increasing environmental expectations and the necessity for better connectivity with the surrounding territory.
Our Approach
1PAX developed a proposal centered on passenger experience, operational efficiency, and adaptability. The strategy combined targeted terminal renovation with phased expansion, ensuring continuity of operations and long-term flexibility. Digital technologies were integrated as key enablers to improve wayfinding, service quality, and overall passenger satisfaction.
At the territorial scale, particular attention was given to strengthening public transportation links to the airport, reducing reliance on private vehicles and supporting more sustainable access strategies.
