A modular vertiport system designed to accelerate the deployment of advanced air mobility while ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and a seamless passenger experience.
Value Delivered
Project Overview
Ecoport is a patented modular vertiport developed by 1PAX to support the emerging ecosystem of advanced air mobility. Conceived as a compact, vertically organized terminal, the system integrates air, land, and water mobility within a single infrastructure. Its design enables the rapid deployment of eVTOL operations while remaining adaptable to diverse geographic contexts, including dense urban areas, waterfronts, remote regions, and islands. By combining prefabricated modular construction with scalable operational logic, Ecoport provides a future-ready infrastructure capable of evolving alongside demand and regulatory frameworks.
Key Challenge
The rise of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft introduces new infrastructure demands: uncertain traffic growth, high initial investment costs, complex passenger circulation requirements, and the need for rapid deployment across diverse geographic conditions. Traditional vertiport concepts often rely on bespoke solutions that limit scalability and delay implementation, while operators must also address sustainability targets, multimodal integration, and evolving regulatory frameworks.
Our Approach
Ecoport addresses these challenges through a modular architecture structured around a clear operational framework. The terminal organizes passenger flows vertically, separating departures, arrivals, and transfers to optimize circulation efficiency and reduce walking distances. Independent vertical circulation cores and decentralized boarding by level ensure intuitive wayfinding and improved passenger processing times.
The infrastructure is based on a flexible 30 × 30 meter modular grid, allowing phased development from a compact logistics and light eVTOL base to a fully integrated multimodal mobility hub. Each expansion phase builds upon the previous one, ensuring operational continuity while accommodating growth in traffic and services.
Beyond aviation, Ecoport integrates multiple modes of transport—including eVTOL aircraft, helicopters, electric buses, and water mobility—creating a coherent multimodal hub that connects territories more efficiently. The system is also designed to adapt to different climates and geographies, with materials, envelopes, and layouts adjusted locally while maintaining the same operational DNA.
