The redesigned branches and ATMs improved customer experience, strengthened brand presence nationwide, and provided a flexible framework for future growth. Widely embraced by clients, the transformation marked a decisive step in AIK Bank’s evolution, aligning its physical network with contemporary expectations of clarity, efficiency, and trust.

Project Overview

In 2025, following a major brand transformation, AIK Bank commissioned 1PAX to design the exterior and interior concept for its entire network of branches and ATMs across Serbia. The scope encompassed more than 60 offices nationwide and approximately 400 ATMs, representing the bank’s primary physical touchpoints with over 300,000 clients. The assignment aimed to transform the new brand vision into a consistent, functional, and recognizable spatial experience.

Key Challenge

The core challenge was to ensure uniformity and clarity across a large and diverse network while allowing each branch and ATM to deliver a modern, welcoming, and efficient customer experience. The design needed to reflect AIK Bank’s renewed identity, integrate evolving digital banking technologies, and remain adaptable to different urban and architectural contexts throughout the country.

Our Approach

1PAX began with an in-depth research and analysis phase, working closely with AIK Bank’s leadership and key stakeholders to understand the institution’s culture, values, and strategic ambitions. Based on this foundation, the team developed a design concept defined by consistency, simplicity, and legibility. Innovative materials and integrated technologies were employed to enhance usability and comfort, while a comprehensive signage system and graphic language ensured visual coherence across all branches and ATMs. Every element—from façades to interiors and interfaces—was conceived as part of a unified customer journey.
