The terminal: an architectural challenge - Innovation and flexibility to perform complex functions
Catalysts and primary beneficiaries of globalization, airports are experiencing unparalleled growth in the world of infrastructure. The design of the terminals of tomorrow will have to respond to many challenges: their scale with ever-larger projects, their economic equation with a gradual withdrawal of States or their ecological footprint with the issue of the acceptability of airports by public opinion.
The architect offers solutions for the use and optimization of building spaces to meet these often contradictory objectives. It must also ensure the necessary flexibility of an infrastructure that will have to adapt to the needs of tomorrow. The challenges of technological innovations, regulatory changes, as well as taking into account the passenger's experience during his trip are at the heart of his concerns.
