1PAX Architects Launches Global Graduate Fellowship with International Jury of Leading Voices in Architecture, Urbanism and Mobility

1PAX has launched its 2026 Graduate Fellowship, a six-month, paid, fully remote program designed to give emerging architects the opportunity to gain international experience through real-world projects in aviation, transportation, urban development and mobility infrastructure.

Open to recent architecture graduates and final-year architecture students worldwide, the fellowship will select two emerging architects to join 1PAX and collaborate on projects across different scales, disciplines and geographies.

A defining feature of the 2026 program is its international seven-member jury, bringing together some of the most experienced voices working across architecture, aviation, urbanism, mobility, research and city development.

Selected by Leading Voices in Architecture and Mobility

The seven jury members bring together decades of international experience across architectural practice, aviation, urban development, education and research. Their diverse perspectives reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the fellowship and the increasingly complex relationship between architecture, infrastructure and mobility.

The 2026 jury includes:

Michel Rojkind. Founder, Rojkind Arquitectos

Architect and urbanist. Founded Rojkind Arquitectos in Mexico City in 2002. His practice works across architecture, urban strategies and experiential design, with projects across Mexico and the United States. He has taught and lectured internationally, including at UPenn and Harvard, and was elevated to Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 2025.

Cristiano Ceccato. Director and Aviation Sector Leader, Zaha Hadid Architects

With more than 25 years of international experience, Cristiano Ceccato leads Zaha Hadid Architects' aviation sector and has directed major airport projects around the world. Since joining ZHA in 2008, he has played a key role in developing the practice's global aviation portfolio, working across complex projects and international teams.

J. Pablo Serrano Orozco. Founding Partner, Serrano Monjaraz Arquitectos

Architect, educator and founding partner of Serrano Monjaraz Arquitectos, Pablo Serrano Orozco has taught architecture at Universidad Iberoamericana since 1992. He has lectured and taught at universities and professional forums throughout Mexico.

Jean-Charles Content. Head of Architecture, Asia-Pacific, Artelia Airports

With nearly 18 years of experience in aviation architecture and planning, Jean-Charles Content has led major airport projects across Asia. At Artelia Airports, he oversees multidisciplinary teams working on airport terminals, masterplans and aviation infrastructure, with particular expertise in large-scale airport planning and terminal design in China.

Marianela B. Castro de la Borda. CEO & Co-founder, FANCYSTUDIOLIMA

Architect and urban designer with a Master's degree in Housing and Urbanism from the Architectural Association in London, Marianela leads urban design, planning and research projects at FANCYSTUDIOLIMA. She has curated the Peruvian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Her work connects academia, public and private sectors, and local communities through sustainable urbanism.

Graciela Torre. Architect and Urbanist, Founder & Director, TAW Architecture

Graciela leads an international practice exploring architecture and urban strategies through mobility, innovation, care and sustainability. Educated in Argentina, Austria and the Netherlands, her work spans different countries, scales and cultural contexts. She has also taught at architecture schools in Buenos Aires, Nantes and Paris.

Karel Van Oordt. Senior Project Coordinator, Eurocities

Urban development specialist with more than 12 years of experience working on sustainable cities, governance and infrastructure across the public and private sectors. His work focuses on strategy, innovation and project management aimed at creating long-term public value, and has received international recognition in urban resilience and design competitions.

Together, the seven jury members offer perspectives spanning global aviation, architectural practice, urbanism, research, education, mobility and infrastructure. Their combined expertise provides a broad lens through which to identify emerging architects with the curiosity and potential to contribute to the future of mobility.

More Than Professional Experience

The fellowship goes beyond conventional internships or graduate placements.

Alongside contributing to real 1PAX projects, each fellow will develop a research project on a topic of their choice related to architecture and mobility, supported throughout the program by an experienced researcher.

This combination of practice and research is at the heart of the fellowship. Fellows will gain first-hand experience working on international projects while also having the opportunity to investigate a question of their own, develop new ideas and contribute their perspective to the future of architecture and mobility.

The research component encourages fellows to look beyond existing solutions and explore the questions that will shape how people move through cities and infrastructure in the years ahead.

An International Experience Without Borders

The fellowship is fully remote, allowing fellows to collaborate with the 1PAX team across its international network while working on projects addressing complex challenges in transportation and urban development.

The program also includes a fully funded visit to 1PAX's Paris office, including flights and accommodation, allowing fellows to meet the team and experience the studio in person.

Through this international structure, fellows will work across cultures, disciplines and scales while developing a broader understanding of how architecture can shape the way people move through cities and connect with the world.

Who Can Apply?

1PAX is looking for emerging architects with strong design potential, curiosity and an interest in the future of cities and mobility.

Applicants must be recent architecture graduates or final-year architecture students, aged 20–28, with professional proficiency in English and availability to participate in the six-month program.

The fellowship is open to applicants worldwide, and only two fellows will be selected for the 2026 program.
